Welcome to the homepage for Meet You at the Polls...

...a prayer initiative created in the weeks leading up to the 2018 midterm elections. Though our prayers had a political focus, these were not political meetings; rather, they were a gathering of members of the Body of Christ interceding on behalf of our country before our Father in heaven.

At 3PM in the afternoon on each of the four Sundays prior to Election Day, believers around the country gathered at the flagpoles (Meet You at the Pole) in front of their city halls or county courthouses in a national concert of prayer. We prayed for many things: our families, schools, churches, and workplaces; our law-enforcement officials, military, judges and government leaders; the disadvantaged, addicted and oppressed, as well as the impending elections.

All of this was cloaked within the context of 2 Chronicles 7:14:

"If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land."

Therefore, we prayed for brokenness and humility before the Lord, confessing our sins and repenting for the sins of the Church and our fellow citizens. We specifically addressed the sins of abortion, sexual perversions, corruption, materialism, pride and apathy. We pleaded for revival, asking that God would pour out His Holy Spirit upon the Church and our country. We asked Him to heal our land and that righteous men and women would rise up to lead our country.

After the meetings on the Sunday before the election, the call changed to Meet You at the Polls where we went to cast our ballots for righteous men and women. And by righteous, we meant those who would seek to uphold the principles and values found in God's Word, the Holy Bible.

Though the movement was planned and put together only a week before the first meeting, around fifty separate municipalities in twenty states and three countries were covered by prayer warriors. It was not a huge turnout, but those who showed up were men and women of faith, courage and determination. Our prayers were heard, and we know God is at work.

Though the election is over, our work continues. As citizens of both the United States and the Kingdom of God, we have a responsibility to pray for our government, our leaders and for revival. We have a responsibility to abide in Christ, obeying all that He commanded. And we have a responsibility to be salt and light (agents of God's grace and mercy) in all walks of life, including the social, cultural and political arenas. It is our intent to Meet You at the Polls again for the 2020 elections (and possibly at other times as well) as the Holy Spirit leads.

Kingdom-minded Christ-followers are asked to send their contact information to receive notifications of future gatherings. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to bookmark Intercessors for America, a site devoted to the mobilization of prayer for revival and issues affecting our country. You can download a list of the politicians who serve your community, access prayer guides and join with other prayer warriors by phone or in person, all by zip code or through the interactive map.
